Wanamassa Fire House
The Wanamassa Fire Company was organized in 1922 in response to the need for local fire protection. The first equipment was a hose reel donated by the Spring Lake Fire Department. By the end of the year, the Company had a motorized pumper and a firehouse.
In 1927, the Company had outgrown its old firehouse, and a new firehouse was built on the corner of Sunset Avenue and Wickapecko Drive. The Firehouse expanded over the years from a two-bay facility to 3 bays and finally 4. Then a second firehouse was built across the street at 2001 Wickapecko Drive.
